I am 20 years old and I am from Kent in South-East England, I am
looking for an opportunity to teach English to children. I’m a Native English speaker and have recently become a
qualified TEFL teacher after completing an internationally accredited TEFL course. I am highly motivated
despite knowing only a small range of Spanish vocabulary. I am enjoying learning this language and I am
eager to learn more. My goal for the future is to become fluent in Spanish so that I can build relationships
locally and gain more of an understanding on how to apply my enthusiastic teaching style to beginners and
encourage them to gain the confidence to learn English.
I have gained insights into what is involved in learning a language through my personal experience of
beginning to learn Spanish, as well as what I have learnt from the TEFL course. All previous work history has
involved customer service roles, some of which have involved working alongside staff of beginner level
English where excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.

Experience
Childminder, 2015-2021- Since the age of 14, I have looked after many children in my local area, which began
through the Feathers after school programme, registered by Ofsted and partnered with Treble Performing
Arts school. I enjoyed being part of the performing arts school from a young age which led me
to teach baby ballet as well as mentoring the junior performing arts team ages 5-12 and babysitting for
parents associated with the company. I became DBS registered (disclosure and barring service) in 2019,
since then, I have gained several years more experience with additional needs and have been responsible
for many school pick ups and drop offs for various families. I have taken on roles involving preparing or
cooking meals for families and completing housekeeping. Throughout my experience it has always been my
priority to encourage enthusiastic learning outside of school and to make sure all children in my care are
always safe and well looked after. My general daily responsibilities included, changing nappies, cooking,
feeding and washing the children, giving emotional support to children, making sure they are secure and
happy and encouraging children to learn through books, toys and games. My mentoring role within the
Performing arts school led me to understand the importance of creative skills in engagement. My teaching
journey began with teaching baby ballet which inspired me to find other ways to expand my knowledge and
experience within the world of education.
Voluntary work experience
Teaching Assistant at St George's Church of England Primary School 2018- Main responsibilities included
preparing the classroom for engaging activities, assisting teachers in managing class behaviour and
Supporting teachers with the delivery of lessons, workshops and tutorials. I enjoyed my participation in
one-to-one support and group activities. I started as a work experience placement however I really enjoyed
the learning environment so I volunteered at the primary school at least two afternoons each week during
my free periods in sixth form.
Early Years Practitioner at Little Learners Nursery March 2019 - My main responsibilities included
organising fun and educational activities, serving meals, supervising children during play, collaborating with
staff members and encouraging a safe and positive learning environment. I loved reading stories to the
children and supervising sensory activities. Through working in early years, I gained further understanding
of child development and learning through play as well as gaining insights into following a formal
curriculum. I am keen and confident to promote good childcare practice in any setting.
