Dear Family,

My name is Asiria and I was born in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain 1995.

I am a professional specialised maternity nurse level 4, governess/tutor and gentle sleep coach, Cello teacher, Yoga teacher and therapist, specialist in emotional intelligence and neuroscience applied to education and currently studying for my masters in Montessori pedagogy.

Since a very young age, I have been exposed to the German and English language, attending boarding school in Munich and international official German Auslandschule in Las Palmas de G.C..

In 2017 I started my career as a child carer having the possibility to work with different international families around Europe. My extensive experience from teacher / governess, nanny and maternity nurse, has given me the opportunity to go through various family profiles with different needs and lifestyles. I consider that one of my abilities is to be able to adapt easily and quickly to families, always finding a balance between my professional and personal relationship with the child's teachers, parents, and household.

I am a hard working, enthusiastic, professional, creative and modern young woman. I confirm that it is not only a passion, but also vocation that drives me to work in the educational field. The ability to adapt to the child's character and personality providing what that individual needs is essential in my working environment. I am always looking for the brightest and most adaptable path for the child's emotional, physical and cognitive development.

My work is based on a series of professional and personal criteria that is supported by flexibility and acceptance, yet it is essential for me to provide the necessary arguments when communicating my observations to parents. Communication is not only verbal, as well my responsibility is to build a trustworthy and professional working environment.

Providing the right environment to encourage discipline, self-awareness and independence, is integrated and essential in my working style. Regardless of the academic curriculum I attach great importance to the emotional and communicative development of the child. Through music I not only teach an instrument or music theory, it’s a active tool with which I teach math, colours, numbers, rhythm, patience etc.. Playing an instrument allows the child to be creative and also find tranquility. It is proven that children with concentration problems, seek a better attention while learning an instrument. The joy and self achievement helps them create a better and stronger relationship with themselves.

Yoga is a practice that helps children/adults in their inner development and physical strengths. I enjoy teaching from a very young age breathing exercise and Acro-Yoga, which helps with their balance and strengthening their nervous system.

I am a very active and positive person, who enjoys new environments, cultures, languages, music, food, political diversity, etc. I myself used to be part of lots of music, theatre projects in Holland, therefore I am a fan of performances and modern art exhibitions. I enjoy finding those artists that are controversial and hold a spirit of change.

I love practising sports, like bodyboarding, running, biking, bouldering and diving. I like to implement sports in children's life, because I consider it is essential for a healthy lifestyle.
