Hi everyone!

We are a bilingual German-Spanish family who just moved to Valencia, my hometown, after living in the West of Germany for several years. We are looking for a native English-speaking caregiver who enjoys spending time with children and can help our 3-year-old son, Martin, engage in English in a fun, natural way. And who knows, you might help refresh our own English skills along the way too ;)

The Role:

The position has two parts:

1. ON-CALL ROLE: We need someone available on an on-call basis in the mornings from 7:00-9:00 on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays to help with Martin’s morning routine and walk him to school if needed. The work would last about one hour each time, and this would only be in case my health makes it challenging for me to manage. Martin’s school is a 12-minute walk through a beautiful park, and he starts at 8:55 am, although he can arrive as early as 7:30 if needed.

2. AFTERNOON CARE: Additionally, we’re looking for someone to spend 1.5-2 hours with Martin for a regular playtime each week, on whichever day and time works best for you — weekday afternoons (around 4:50–6:30 pm) or even on the weekend. During this time, you could take him to the park or do any activities you both enjoy. We’re lucky to be surrounded by three beautiful parks, including the riverbed park right in front of our home, which is a fantastic spot for adventures — especially as Martin is learning to ride his bike!

Additional Support: Considering the regular weekly playtime with Martin, we may also reach out for help during the week to see if you’re available to pick him up in the afternoons or to play with him. While it’s great if you live nearby, we welcome candidates from all over Valencia, as long as you’re able to commute easily.

About Martin: Martin is easy-going, independent, very affectionate, empathetic, and loves to eat and play. He has a special fascination for tractors, excavators, firefighters, and police — he’s particularly captivated by sirens! Although Martin doesn’t speak English yet, we’re sure he’ll have a great time learning with you!

My husband and I are a supportive team, and he has a flexible job (working from home), which allows us to be understanding and accommodating with schedules. We want to ensure that you feel supported and that the arrangement works well for both of us.
