Nanny Position
Full-time (40 hour week), live in nanny, with occasional overtime

Job Description
We are looking for a dynamic, loving and trust-worthy nanny to help take care of our four children (Marie 9, Pierre-Antoine 7, Augustin 4 and Eleonore 3). This is a live-in position, and the nanny will be expected to run the house and look after the children if both parents need to be away.
Normal day routine
The day will start at 7am when the nanny will be expected to help get the children ready for school. Occasionally she will need to drive them to school. The children need to be at school by 8.30 am at the very latest. The nanny’s morning duties should end at 9 am unless she needs to do the shopping for the household in which case they will finish later.
Duties at this time will be:
• tidy and clean the children’s bedrooms and playroom.
• manage the laundry making sure washing has been done of bedlinen and clothes, fold items and put them away in the correct bedroom.
• prepare uniforms for the children for the following day.
• prepare the children’s evening meal which should be healthy and balanced.
• provide a shopping list of things the children need (eg toothpaste, nappies and food items for the meals she plans to make for the children the following week) and/or do the shopping for the house.
• Plan activities with the children which are fun, creative and educational.
Afternoon schedule should begin at 2.30 with the above duties carried out. The children will need to be picked up from school at 3.30, leaving the house at 3pm. The nanny will have help once the children are back from school, but will be expected to coordinate the drop-off and pick up of the children to their various activities, help with homework, bath and bedtime. Unless both parents are away or babysitting is required, the nanny will finish at 7:30 pm.
Overnight routine
If both parents are away, the nanny will need to stay downstairs on the same floor as the children. Please note, no television is allowed in the mornings.
Livein Environment
The nanny will be part of our family. She will have her own bedroom and bathroom in the house.
At least one parent will nearly always be at home, but there will be occasions when the nanny will be expected to manage everything on her own. However, during the week, a local nanny helps from 4pm to 7.30 pm and on Saturdays from 9am -6pm.
Local Spanish contract.
Requirements:
• Fluent English or French speaker (Spanish also necessary)
• At least secondary school graduate but further education qualifications preferred in Early Childhood education or similar
• Nanny needs at least 7 years’ experience of caring for children, with preference for working in a large family
• Clean, up to date UK or European driving licence with safe driving history
• Non-smoker
• First aid training and child CPR
• Authorization to work in Spain
• Reliable, honest, and trustworthy
• Physical ability to care for young children
• Ability to plan, organize, and multitask with minimal supervision
Hours:
Weekdays: 7-9 am, 2:30 pm – 7:30 pm (unless both parents are away or babysitting is required, in which case she will be responsible for the children overnight and will help with the morning routine and school run). If during the week she has not fulfilled her 40 hours she may be asked to do babysitting.
Responsibilities:
• Create a stimulating, nurturing, and safe environment for the children
• Supervise the children’s activities at all times
• Plan and prepare meals and feed the children
• Dress the children
• Place the children down for naps and bedtime
• Bathe the children
• Change diapers
• Perform housework related to child care, including washing the children’s clothes, cleaning up after meals, tidying play areas
• Teach the children good social manners
• Play with the children, both indoors and outdoors
• Plan and lead educational activities, including reading and helping with homework
• Discipline the children (thinking step), when necessary
• Drive the children to and from activities
• Administer medicine to the children as approved by parents
